Introduction

Crop husbandry is the practice of growing and taking care of crops on a farm. It involves activities like preparing the soil, planting seeds, watering, and protecting the crops from pests and diseases.

What is a Crop?

  • A crop is a plant that is grown and harvested for food or other useful products.
  • Example: Maize, beans, potatoes, and tomatoes are all types of crops that we eat.

Planting Seeds

  • To grow crops, we need to plant seeds in the soil.
  • Example: When you plant a mango seed in the ground, it grows into a mango tree that produces fruits.

Taking Care of Crops

  • Crops need water, sunlight, and nutrients from the soil to grow well.
  • Example: Just like we need food and water to grow, plants also need care to thrive.

Fun Activity

Try planting some seeds in a small pot or garden. Take care of the plants by watering them regularly and watching them grow.

Remember
