Introduction

Grammar is like the rules of a language. It helps us know how to speak and write correctly.

Parts of Speech

  • Noun: A noun is a name of a person, place, animal, or thing. For example, "dog", "school", "Mary".
  • Verb: A verb shows action or state of being. For example, "run", "jump", "is".
  • Adjective: An adjective describes a noun. For example, "big", "happy", "red".

Types of Sentences

  • Statement: A statement tells us something. For example, "I like playing soccer."
  • Question: A question asks something. For example, "Are you coming to the party?"
  • Command: A command tells someone to do something. For example, "Please sit down."

Fun Activity

Try making your own sentences using nouns, verbs, and adjectives. You can create a story using different types of sentences too!

Remember

  • Nouns are names of people, places, animals, or things.
  • Verbs show actions or states of being.
  • Adjectives describe nouns.
