Grade 5 · Science and Technology 1 min read

Introduction

Interactions within the environment are all the ways living things and non-living things affect each other in their surroundings.

Living Things and Non-living Things

  • Living things like plants need sunlight to make food through a process called photosynthesis.
  • Animals eat plants for food, which helps them grow and stay healthy.
  • Rain helps plants grow by providing them with water.

Recycling in the Environment

  • When leaves fall from trees, they decompose and become part of the soil, providing nutrients for new plants to grow.
  • Bees collect nectar from flowers, helping in pollination which allows plants to produce fruits and seeds.
