Lesson 10 of 50
1 min read Mathew Wahome

Introduction

Rights and responsibilities are like two sides of a coin. Rights are things you are allowed to do or have, while responsibilities are things you should do or take care of.

What are Rights?

  • Rights are things that you are allowed to do or have.
  • For example, you have the right to play, learn, and be safe.
  • You have the right to express your thoughts and feelings.

What are Responsibilities?

  • Responsibilities are things you should do or take care of.
  • For example, it is your responsibility to clean up after yourself.
  • You have a responsibility to be kind to others and respect their rights.

Fun Activity

Think about a time when you had a responsibility to take care of something or someone. Draw a picture or write a short story about it.

Remember

  • Rights are things you are allowed to do or have.
  • Responsibilities are things you should do or take care of.
  • We all have rights, but we also have responsibilities to make sure everyone's rights are respected.
