Government and Leadership

Grade 5 · Social Studies 1 min read

Introduction

Government and leadership are important in our society. They help to make rules, solve problems, and keep people safe.

What is Government?

Government is like the boss of a country. It makes laws, builds roads, and helps people when they are in trouble. For example, just like your teacher makes rules in the classroom, the government makes rules for everyone in the country to follow.

Types of Leaders

  1. President: The president is like the head of the country. They make big decisions and represent the country to other places.

  2. Governor: A governor is like a leader of a state. They make sure things run smoothly in that area, like a head teacher in a school.

Fun Activity

Imagine you are the leader of your family for a day. Plan a fun activity for everyone to do together and explain why you chose it.

Remember

  • Government makes rules to keep us safe.
  • President is the head of the country.
  • Governor leads a state or region.
