In English, we have something very special called the alphabet. The alphabet is made up of 26 letters that we use to write words and sentences.
Section 1: Learning the Alphabet The alphabet starts with the letter A. It goes all the way to the letter Z. Each letter has a special name and makes a special sound. For example, A says "ah" like in apple, and B says "buh" like in banana.
Section 2: Singing the Alphabet Song Have you heard the Alphabet Song before? It goes like this:
A, B, C, D, E, F, G,
H, I, J, K, L, M, N, O, P,
Q, R, S, T, U, V,
W, X, Y, and Z!
Now I know my ABCs,
Next time won't you sing with me?
Quick Activity: Alphabet Hunt Look around your home and find objects that start with each letter of the alphabet. For example, A for apple, B for ball, C for cat, and so on.
Remember, the alphabet helps us read and write. Practice saying the letters and their sounds to become an expert in the alphabet!
